RESUMEN

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of Ganoderma lucidum fermentation on antioxidant and anti-glycemic activities of Tartary buckwheat. Xylanase, total cellulase (CMCase and FPase) and ß-glucosidase in fermented Tartary buckwheat (FB) increased significantly to 242.06 U/g, 17.99 U/g and 8.67 U/g, respectively. And the polysaccharides, total phenols, flavonoids and triterpenoids, which is increased by 122.19%, 113.70%, 203.74%, and 123.27%, respectively. Metabolite differences between non-fermented Tartary buckwheat (NFB) and FB pointed out that 445 metabolites were substantially different, and were involved in related biological metabolic pathways. There was a considerable rise in the concentrations of hesperidin, xanthotoxol and quercetin 3-O-malonylglucoside by 240.21, 136.94 and 100.77 times (in Fold Change), respectively. The results showed that fermentation significantly increased the antioxidant and anti-glycemic activities of buckwheat. This study demonstrates that the fermentation of Ganoderma lucidum provides a new idea to enhance the health-promoting components and bioactivities of Tartary buckwheat.

RESUMEN

Fatty acids are one of the main sources of flavour in fermented Yu jiaosuan (YJS) in southwest China. Bacilli (50.18 %) and Oxyphotobacteria (32.70 %) were the dominant class. Lactiplantibacillus (40.51 %) and Weissella (20.43 %) were the dominant species in the inoculated fermented group (HY). The peroxide value (ZY: 0.025 g/100 g, HY: 0.016 g/100 g) and lipoxygenase (LOX) (ZY: 5.7654 U/min·g, HY: 3.3856 U/min·g) in the HY group were significantly lower compared with the natural fermentation group (ZY), while acid lipase activity (ZY: 0.3184 U/h·g, HY: 0.7075 U/h·g) and neutral lipase activity (ZY: 12.65443 U/h·g, HY: 20.25142 U/h·g) were significantly higher than the control sample. Totally 40 differential fatty acid metabolites were screened. Arachidonic acid metabolism, unsaturated fatty acid biosynthesis and linoleic acid metabolism were potential metabolic pathways. Seven major bacterial species were closely associated with 15 differential fatty acid. This study contributes to the targeted production of fatty acid functional active substances of YJS.

RESUMEN

One of the major issues in the food sector is the lack of resource utilization and the contamination of the environment caused by by-products. This study aimed to investigate the effects of Ganoderma lucidum (GL) fermentation on the nutritional components, structural characterization, metabolites, and antioxidant activity of soybean residue (SR), sweet potato residue (SPR), and zanthoxylum pericarpium residue (ZPR). The results showed that the nutrient contents of SR, SPR and ZPR increased. The active substances, amino acids (umami, aromatic and basic), metabolites and antioxidant activity (DPPH, ABTS, FRAP) (SR and SPR increased by 11.43, 32.64, 40.19 µmol Trolox/100 g and 19.29, 17.7, 32.35 µmol Trolox/100 g, respectively) of SR and SPR were increased. However, the results of ZPR showed a decrease in the content of bioactive substances, amino acids, and antioxidant activity. The results show that using GL fermentation can provide novel ideas and theoretical basis for improving SR and SPR to obtain new raw materials for antioxidant products.

RESUMEN

Background: Wilms tumor is the most common childhood kidney malignant tumor. However, the genes and signaling pathways associated with the disease remain incompletely understood. Methods: GSE66405, GSE73209, and GSE11151 were collected from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database, and differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were detected using R software. A protein-protein interaction (PPI) network was constructed using the STRING database, and the clustering modules and hub genes were analyzed with the Cytoscape software. Genes functional enrichment analyses were performed using the package "clusterProfiler" in R software, and the gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) analysis was performed using GSEA v4.1.0 software. Results: Respectively, 3,092, 620, and 3,567 DEGs were screened in GSE66405, GSE73209, and GSE11151, with a total of 474 common DEGs detected in three expression profiles. For the common DEGs, the top 30 significant results of Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathways enrichment analyses were presented. Furthermore, five modules were found as the most related modules to Wilms tumor. GO term and KEGG pathway enrichment analyses of the genes in all the modules identified 10 GO terms and 5 KEGG pathways as significantly enriched. The top 10 hub DEGs of the PPI network were ALB, CDH1, EGF, AQP2, REN, SLC2A2, SPP1, UMOD, NPHS2, and FOXM1, with ALB identified as the highest degree. GSEA results showed 11 pathways were correlated with ALB expression in GSE66405 and 10 pathways were related to the expression of the ALB gene in GSE73209. Conclusions: Our study revealed robust gene signatures in Wilms tumor. Dysregulations of the signaling pathways were associated with the development and progression of the Wilms tumor, and 10 hub genes may play important roles in its diagnosis and therapy.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: We investigated physical deviation and precocious puberty among school-aged children in Leshan City, to provide a theoretical basis for the management of precocious puberty in children. METHODS: We selected 12 primary schools of Leshan City using a cluster random sampling method and conducted physical examinations among healthy students aged 4 12 years. A total of 11,000 students were recruited (5502 boys and 5498 girls). We measured body mass index (BMI), and participants were tested for precocious puberty according to the Tanner stages and standard maps. Nutritional status was also evaluated. RESULTS: Obese and overweight children accounted for a high proportion of participants; the prevalence of underweight was the lowest. The prevalence of obesity among boys was higher than that in girls. Precocious puberty was mainly observed in girls, particularly those age 7 years old. The prevalence of precocious puberty among overweight and obese children was higher than that in children with normal weight. CONCLUSION: We identified a significant sex difference in precocious puberty among children in Leshan City. Overweight and obesity may be associated with precocious puberty.

RESUMEN

As the most important refraction part in the optical system, cornea possesses characteristics which are important parameters in ophthalmology clinical surgery.During the measurement of the cornea in our study,we acquired the corneal data of Orbscan Ⅱ corneal topographer in real time using the Hook technology under Windows, and then took the data into the corneal analysis software. We then further analyzed and calculated the data to obtain individual Q-value of overall corneal 360semi-meridian.The corneal analysis software took Visual C++ 6.0as development environment, used OpenGL graphics technology to draw three-dimensional individual corneal morphological map and the distribution curve of the Q-value,and achieved real-time corneal data query. It could be concluded that the analysis would further extend the function of the corneal topography system, and provide a solid foundation for the further study of automatic screening of corneal diseases.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To study hydroscopicity of Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch and screen the best compounding of adjuvant, and measure critical relative humidity of the best anagraph for providing reasonable relative humidity of production. METHODS: Different adjuvant were adopecd and compared hydroscopicity of Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch at 25 degrees C and different relative humidity. RESULTS: The best prescription was Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch: lactose: microcrystalline cellulose = 1: 0. 5: 0. 5. The critical relative humidity of prescription was 60%. CONCLUSION: The sduty can solve the problem of mositure absorption and agglomeration in production.
